The Cutie Kitty Film Festival
Did you know? Baru-baru ini, ada Cat Video Film Festival, lho. Festival film ini diadakan di Minneapolis, tepatnya di Walker Art Center. Katie Czarniecki Hill, sebagai penyelenggara acara ini, sempat menyampaikan opininya pada Los Angeles Times. "It is an experiment. It will be interesting to see if people think it is silly, or great, or a waste of time. But I like the idea of everyone admitting they like cat videos," ujarnya. Event ini dinilai berhasil menarik banyak peminat karena sang penyelenggara mengajak para cat-lovers untuk mengirimkan video secara online. Hanya dalam beberapa bulan, sekitar 10.000 video berhasil terkumpul dari seluruh dunia.
“A lot of people have cats, but I don’t think they talk about it as much — it’s not as visible as the dogs are,” ujar Vicki Lowell, Senior Vice President for Marketing and Operations Animal Planet. Katie dan beberapa orang juri kemudian memilih 79 video dari 10.000 video yang ikut berpartisipasi. Mau tahu film apa yang sukses mendapatkan penghargaan Golden Kitty? Give it up for Henri 2, Paw de Deux! Golden Kitty sendiri adalah nama penghargaan untuk film yang berhasil terpilih sebagai People's Choice Award. "This is a great honor.
